The value added of chemical raw materials and products manufacturing increased by 4.4% in October.
Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on November 14 show that in October 2018, the value-added of industries above scale increased by 5.9% year-on-year, 0.1 percentage points faster than in September, and 0.48% higher than in September. From January to October, the value added of industries above scale increased by 6.4% year-on-year, which was the same as that of January to September.
In three categories, in October, the value-added of mining industry increased by 3.8% year-on-year, 1.6 percentage points faster than in September; the manufacturing industry increased by 6.1%, 0.4 percentage points faster; the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water increased by 6.8%, and fell by 4.2 percentage points.
In terms of economic types, in October, the added value of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 4.6%, collective enterprises decreased by 3.6%, joint-stock enterprises increased by 6.7%, and foreign and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-invested enterprises increased by 3.9%.
In October, 37 of the 41 major industries maintained year-on-year growth in value added. Among them, agricultural and sideline food processing industry grew by 4.7%, textile industry by 1.1%, chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry by 4.4%, non-metallic mineral products industry by 7.7%, ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry by 10.1%, non-ferrous metal smelting and calendering industry by 8.7%, general equipment manufacturing industry by 6.8%, special equipment manufacturing industry by 6.8%. Manufacturing grew by 8.1%, automotive industry by 0.7%, railway, ship, aerospace and other transport equipment by 5.0%, electrical machinery and equipment by 6.8%, computer, telecommunications and other electronic equipment by 14.6%, and power, thermal production and supply by 5.9%.
Regionally, in October, the added value of the eastern region increased by 5.5%, the central region by 6.0%, the western region by 6.7%, and the northeastern region by 6.1%.
In October, 343 of 596 products increased year-on-year. Among them, 98.02 million tons of steel, an increase of 11.5%; 22.43 million tons of cement, an increase of 13.1%; 4.52 million tons of ten non-ferrous metals, an increase of 5.5%; 1.61 million tons of ethylene, an increase of 0.9%; 23.7 million cars, a decrease of 9.2%; 97.9 million cars, a decrease of 7.1%; 533 billion kilowatt hours of power generation, an increase of 48%; 52.78 million tons of crude oil processing, an increase of 46%.
In October, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises was 98.1%, down 0.4 percentage points from the same month last year. Industrial enterprises realized export delivery value of 1148.9 billion yuan, an increase of 14.7% over the same period last year.
